Welcome to the Pack
I don't do commercial chaos or doggy bootcamp and I don't do cages. Around here, dogs are welcomed into a lived-in home designed to feel safe, familiar, and emotionally grounding. Because I intentionally keep my guest list small-scale, your pup doesn't get lost in a crowd—they are woven right into real home life and become a central part of the daily household flow, rather than waiting it out in an isolated space. Every dog is supervised throughout the day and night, ensuring their comfort, safety, and emotional security at all times.
Most dogs find their feet quickly because they are part of a real household flow, rather than being left to fend for themselves in an empty house. Whether they prefer reigning supreme from the lounge, sniffing out every corner of the yard, or trailing behind me like a furry shadow, their days are shaped entirely by whatever makes them feel safe and happy. They often thoroughly enjoy the company of other compatible guests but those pairings are always considered carefully based on temperament, energy and personality—they are never just thrown together to hope for the best. There are no rigid facility rules here, just a comfortable, consistent home rhythm.

The Heart of the Home
The Den — straight into the biggest, most dog-friendly space in the house.
The lounge room is their domain. High ceilings, wide open floor space, rugs scattered for sprawling or for dogs to catch their footing securely (like my Misty), beds of all shapes and sizes ready for a game or two of musical beds. At any given moment you'll find dogs playing, sniffing out treats, napping, watching Paw Patrol with concerning levels of focus or simply draped across every available surface including me, like they own the place.
Because honestly? They do. 🐾
My bed is not included in musical beds, Not because they're not loved-but because group jealousy at 2am is nobody's idea of a good nights sleep! For overnight stays, I sleep in the adjoining room — keeping human presence close throughout the night without disturbing the dogs' space. For dogs used to sleeping near their owners, that quiet reassurance makes all the difference to a settled night away from home.
The kitchen remains the one human-only zone — kept separate to manage pet dander and maintain an asthma and allergy friendly environment for everyone's benefit. The lounge is genuinely, completely, unapologetically theirs.
The Pawsitive Play Patch.
The open space between the lounge and the glass doors is where indoor and outdoor blur into one glorious, tail-wagging adventure. On cooler or wet days, this is where the action stays — indoor fetch, hide and sniff treat games, tunnels, toys, and the kind of enthusiastic chaos that only happy dogs can generate. The space is wide open, the ceilings are high, and nobody has to hold back.
The Pawlayground 🐾
When the sun comes out and the glass doors slide open, the energy shifts completely, The Pawsitive Play Patch becomes the launch pad out to The Pawlayground, which is fully enclosed by secure colorbond fencing — built for dogs who like to test boundaries, and robust enough that even the most determined escape artist eventually admits defeat. (We see you Sunny.) 😄
There's room to run, chase, fetch, zoom, investigate every corner, and generally be completely and utterly free. The pet friendly artificial turf keeps things clean and mud free year round — an added bonus for dogs with grass sensitivities or seasonal allergies and the whole yard connects back to the lounge room through those glass doors so nobody ever feels too far from home base.
The Spawlash Zone 💦
When summer arrives, The Spawlash Zone comes into its own.
Cool water, warm sun, and dogs who have absolutely no chill whatsoever about either of those things. Whether it's a solo splasher making waves in the pool, two mates deciding simultaneous pool domination is a reasonable plan or a lab single-handedly generating a whirlpool situation — The Spawlash Zone handles it all. Towels are on standby. Dignity is entirely optional. 😂

Beach Walks & Outdoor Adventures
Beachside walks are one of the highlights of a Pawnell stay — but they're introduced thoughtfully, not on autopilot.
For longer stays, walks may be introduced every few days once a dog has found their footing and feels at ease. For shorter stays, outings may be swapped for enrichment or backyard play instead. When multiple dogs are staying together, social interaction and play often provide more than enough stimulation without needing to venture out daily.
Safety, trust, and emotional wellbeing always comes first!
Outings are assessed based on:
🐾 Recall and lead responsiveness.
🐾 Confidence levels in new surrounding.
🐾 Social behaviour — reactive, nervous, or runner tendencies.
🐾 Length of stay and familiarity with me.
🐾 Owner permission confirmed on intake form.
🐾 Tailored around the physical capacity of our senior guests.
🐾 Weather conditions.
